Spooky Halloween Luminaries

Are you ready for Halloween? Now that I have costumes for my littles I am finally ready for Halloween fun. Come back later this week when I reveal their costumes.
Here’s a quick and easy project to add to your Halloween décor.  Earlier this fall I found this while walking through Von Maur:

It has a light in it but it’s mainly made of plastic and costs $20. I knew I could make something just as good or better.  This seriously was EASY!!!

I started with plain glass vases from the Dollar Tree.  To make sure all the fingerprints were cleaned off I cleaned them up with some glass cleaners.

The easiest way to do that is with your hand inside the vase.

While the glass cleaner was drying completely I set up an are to spray paint in the yard. This Rustoleum glass frosting spray is very affordable from a craft supply store especially when you use a coupon.

It just took a few coats on each vase to get the etched look I was after. While the spray paint was drying I got out my Cricut and used the “October 31” cartridge, cutting out an owl and spider in black vinyl. If you don’t have a Cricut or a cutting machine you can easily print a  shape from your computer and tape it to the vinyl  and cut with scissors.  :)

Last step peel the backing off the vinyl and place on the frosted vase.

I used battery operated candle lights but little tea lights would work good too.

Aren’t they spooky???

Thanks for stopping by At Home with Sweet T!!!
